Dedicated to the memory of Bhag Ram Summan

This site is a tribute to Bhag Ram Summan, who was born in Punjab, India on December 15, 1944 to Nami and Puran Chand Summan.

In 1962 he moved to the UK and started a life with his wife Gurmit Kaur who sadly passed away in 2020.  Together they had 6 children and 13 grandchildren, all of whom had their own special relationship with him.  The love he showed to them all was pure, unconditional and everlasting.

Bhag Ram was a very spiritual person and from a young age would ensure that he spent time daily connecting with God, be that through reading spiritual texts like the Gita, the Bible and prayers from the Guru Granth Sahib, to spending time in meditation.  He would always pray for the peace and happiness of his family.

He was also a keen gardener and spent hours tending to his vegetable plot.  If you ever visited him at home, you would be guaranteed to leave with a selection of his seasonal vegetables.  He loved watching his vegetables and flowers grow and once won a prize for the largest home grown pumpkin weighing in at 62kg!

Bhag Ram's words of encouragement, his kindness and love has touched so many people and has left a lasting memory of him.

In late 2021 Bhag Ram was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, a type of Cancer linked to Asbestos exposure. This was later linked to his employment as a Fork Lift Driver in factories that handled products made with Asbestos.

Bhag Ram passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on the 6th April 2023.  His family would like to express their gratitude to the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice for all the support and guidance that they provided Bhag Ram and his family, allowing them to make his last days peaceful and comfortable for him.

Bhag Ram Summan was a special soul that touched many lives, he will not be forgotten and his values and beliefs live on in the hearts of his dearest.
